 “And when the sunshine showed her face I felt like I was ready to die, went lookin’ for a place to hide, a hole I could crawl inside” is a song brought to the world through the lips of Kid Rock. He is famous for his music that infuses hiphop, rock, country and the blues. Fame made not only him special but the title of the aforementioned lines, Jackson, Mississippi.

Simply being mentioned in a song, like “Back to Chicago” is strong enough to bring a city in the spotlight. But use the city and state as the title of the song and one’s got him a home-runner. Why? It is because the City of Jackson with its nearly two hundred thousand people, boasts being the most populous of all the cities of the state of Mississippi. These Jackson facts are only highlighted by the attraction it gets with its current motto Jackson, Mississippi: City with Soul. Since the name of the city is included in the titles, lyrics, and memories of many other famous residents of Jackson.
